Welcome to Relay, a service provided by Cedar Creek Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"). Relay is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
By using Relay, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
When you use Relay, we may collect the following types of personal information:
Information You Provide Directly: When you create an account, we may ask for personal details such as your name, email address, and password.
Contact Data You Store: Relay is a contact management tool. You may store contact information within RelayBooks, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, birthdays, notes, labels, custom fields, and any other information you choose to enter. This data belongs to you — we act as a data processor on your behalf.
Communication Data: Any information you share with us when contacting our support team or via any communication channels.
Information Collected Automatically: We collect data on how you interact with the Relay app, including features used and actions taken.
Device Information: Information such as device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies to collect data on how you use our service. You can choose to accept only essential cookies.
Payment Information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment information is collected and processed by Stripe, our payment provider. We do not store your card details directly.
Information from Third-Party Sources: If you choose to connect your Relay account to other services, such as Google Contacts, we may collect relevant data through their APIs in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
Integration Data: If you use our API or webhooks (available on the Team plan) to connect Relay to third-party services, we process event data necessary to facilitate those integrations. We do not access or store credentials for your third-party services beyond what is necessary for the integration to function.
We use the information collected for the following purposes:
To Provide and Improve Services: We use your data to deliver and enhance Relay's functionality, including storing and synchronising your contacts across shared RelayBooks.
To Facilitate Collaboration: When you share a RelayBook with other users, we process contact data to make it accessible to authorised members according to the permissions you set.
To Communicate with You: We may use your contact information to send you important updates, support information, and service-related communications (such as account verification, billing, and security alerts).
To Process Payments: We use payment-related information to manage your subscription and billing through our payment processor, Stripe.
Security and Fraud Prevention: We may use the data to ensure security and prevent misuse or fraud.
Legal Obligations: We may process your information when required by law.
Your contact data belongs to you. We act as a data processor on your behalf. We do not access, analyse, mine, sell, or use your stored contact data for any purpose other than providing the Service to you. We will never use your contact data for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to delivering the Service.
When you share a RelayBook with other users, those users can see the contacts within that book according to their permission level (owner, member, or viewer). As the owner of a RelayBook, you control who has access and at what level. When a member is removed from a RelayBook, they lose access to the contacts within it.
For Team plan users, RelayBooks may belong to a team rather than an individual. Team administrators can manage access to team RelayBooks. When a team member leaves, contacts they added to team-owned books remain with the team.
Relay uses cookies and similar technologies to improve the user experience. You can choose between the following cookie settings:
Essential Cookies: Required for basic functionalities such as authentication, session management, and security.
Optional Cookies: Analytical and performance cookies to help us understand how users interact with the app. You may opt out by adjusting your settings.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use third-party analytics that track you across other websites.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may share your information under the following circumstances:
Service Providers: We may share data with third-party service providers who help us operate our services (e.g., hosting services, payment processors).
Payment Processing: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
Google Contacts: If you use Google Contacts import or sync, Google's privacy policy applies to the OAuth connection.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose your data when required by law or when necessary to protect our legal rights.
Your data is stored securely in accordance with industry best practices, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), encryption at rest, and access control measures. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your data.
Data Retention and Deletion:
We store your personal information for a period of time that is consistent with our business purposes. We will retain your personal information for the length of time needed to fulfil the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
If you delete your account:
When the data retention period expires for a given type of data, we will delete or destroy it. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected] or using the account deletion feature in your account settings.
In accordance with applicable laws, you have the following rights:
Access and Correction: You can request access to or correction of your personal data.
Data Deletion: You can request that we delete your data at any time.
Object or Restrict Processing: You may request to limit the processing of your data or opt-out of certain uses.
Data Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a structured format. Relay also provides CSV and vCard export functionality so you can export your contacts at any time.

Relay is not intended for children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.
As a company registered in England, your data may be processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA). If we transfer your data internationally, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place to protect your information, as required by law.
